Suresh stuns Giron in straight sets at Winston-Salem

Dhakshineswar Suresh produced the upset of the opening day at Winston-Salem, beating Marcos Giron 6-3, 7-5 in the round of 64 without dropping a set. The Indian's serve was the difference: he landed 65.6 percent of first deliveries and won a huge 87.5 percent of those points, firing 17 aces to Giron's five. Six double faults were the only blemish, though Suresh still took 52.4 percent of his second-serve points, essentially matching Giron's 52.6. The American, by contrast, won just 73.7 percent behind his first ball, and that gap decided a tight second set.
