Harris routs Bueno 6-1 6-3 in US Open qualifying quarterfinals
Billy Harris needed only two brisk sets to sweep past Gonzalo Bueno 6-1 6-3 in the US Open qualifying quarterfinals. The Briton's serve held up even when his first delivery did not, landing just 55.4 percent of them but winning 67.7 percent of those points and, crucially, 64.0 percent behind his second ball. Bueno found the court more often, at 62.0 percent, yet won only 54.8 percent of his first-serve points and a damaging 31.6 percent on his second. Each man struck one ace and three double faults, but the second-serve gap decided it and carried Harris a step closer to the main draw.
