Olivieri fights back to beat Den Ouden in US Open qualifying
Genaro Alberto Olivieri recovered from a set down to edge Guy Den Ouden 5-7 6-4 7-5 in the US Open qualifying quarterfinals. The Argentine's consistency off the ground of his service game told: he landed 69.9% of first serves and won 68.1% of those points, while backing it up with 61.3% behind the second ball and just one double fault. Den Ouden struck five aces and won 73.4% of his first-serve points, but he found the court only 58.2% of the time, took only half of his second-serve points and coughed up four double faults. Olivieri moves within one win of the main draw.
