Rincon rallies past Droguet in US Open qualifying decider

Daniel Rincon came from a set down to beat Titouan Droguet 2-6 6-4 7-6 in the US Open qualifying quarterfinals, closing out a three-set battle in a final-set tiebreak. The Spaniard landed only 52.3% of his first serves, but he made them count, winning 66.7% of those points to Droguet's 61.8%. The difference came behind the second delivery, where Rincon took 48.1% of the points against the Frenchman's 41.9%, even though both men served six double faults. Rincon struck five aces to Droguet's four and moved a step closer to the main draw.
