Bellucci edges past Landaluce in three sets at Winston-Salem
Mattia Bellucci needed a decider to see off Martin Landaluce 6-4 6-7 6-1 in the Round of 64 at Winston-Salem, recovering from the disappointment of a second-set tie-break to race through the third. The serve was the difference: the Italian struck 10 aces to Landaluce's one and landed 62.4% of first deliveries, winning 74.1% of those points against the Spaniard's 63.6%. Bellucci's second ball also held up better, 57.1% to 48.6%, enough to offset his six double faults. Landaluce contributed five of his own, and the margins told in a one-sided final set that put the Italian into the next round.
