Fils beats Tiafoe in three sets for Cincinnati Masters title

Arthur Fils won the Cincinnati Masters 1000 final over Frances Tiafoe 6-3, 1-6, 6-0, recovering from a lopsided second set to sweep the decider without dropping a game. The Frenchman's delivery carried him through: 11 aces against a single double fault, 71.4% of first-serve points won and a remarkable 66.7% behind the second ball, which left Tiafoe with almost nothing to attack. The American never found his range, landing just 39.1% of first serves and coughing up four double faults, and he won only 54.8% of his second-serve points. For Fils, it was a title claimed on hard court against an American in his own backyard.
