Vallejo takes 6-4 over Carreno Busta in Winston-Salem
Adolfo Daniel Vallejo came through 6-4 against Pablo Carreno Busta in the Round of 64 at Winston-Salem, the match going no further than that single set. The Paraguayan's edge came from behind the second delivery: he won 52.2% of those points, while Carreno Busta managed just 27.8%, a gap that left the Spaniard scrambling whenever his first serve went missing. Carreno Busta landed more first serves, 60.9% to 55.8%, but won only 60.7% of them against Vallejo's 69%, and four double faults to Vallejo's three added to the damage. It was a statement result for the young Paraguayan on hard court.
