Jordyn Hazelitt reached the US Open final by beating Shannon Lam 6-2 7-6 in the semifinals, controlling the opening set before surviving a far tighter second. The difference was second-serve quality: Hazelitt won 54.8 percent of her second-serve points, while Lam managed just 25 percent behind hers and coughed up seven double faults.
