Shelbayh rallies past Seggerman in Winston-Salem qualifying
Abedallah Shelbayh recovered from a lopsided opening set to beat Ryan Seggerman 2-6 7-6 6-3 in the Winston-Salem qualifying semifinals. Seggerman's serve was the story at both ends: he fired 16 aces and won a remarkable 90.5% of his first-serve points, but landed only 50% of them and coughed up nine double faults, leaving him exposed on a second delivery that yielded just 42.9%. Shelbayh was the steadier server, putting 66.7% of first balls in and winning 73.4% behind them, plus 56.2% on his second. The Jordanian moved a step closer to the main draw.
