Rottgering routs Heck 6-1 6-0 in Winston-Salem qualifying
Mees Rottgering needed barely an hour's worth of resistance to sweep past Hunter Heck 6-1, 6-0 in the qualifying semifinals at Winston-Salem. The Dutchman landed only 50% of his first serves but was almost untouchable behind them, winning 89.5% of those points, and he remained solid even on the second delivery at 68.4%. Heck, by contrast, was undone the moment his first serve missed: he won just 22.2% of second-serve points and added three double faults to Rottgering's two. With 54.2% of first-serve points won, the American never built a platform, and Rottgering moved into the final qualifying round.
