Fils beats Cobolli 6-3 6-4 to reach Cincinnati final
Arthur Fils controlled the Cincinnati semifinal from the front, seeing off Flavio Cobolli 6-3 6-4 without ever surrendering the initiative. The Frenchman landed only 56.9% of his first serves but was close to untouchable behind them, winning 81.8% of those points and striking six aces to Cobolli's two. The difference was compounded on the second ball, where Fils took 52.0% of the points against the Italian's 47.1%, and Cobolli's 73.1% return on first serves never gave him the same cushion. Three double faults did no damage, and Fils moved into the final.
