Grenier races past Oberleitner 6-4 6-1 in Winston-Salem qualifying
Hugo Grenier took control early and never let go, beating Neil Oberleitner 6-4 6-1 in the qualifying semifinals in Winston-Salem. The Frenchman's serve was the difference: even with only 48.8% of first serves landing, he won 85.7% of those points and a commanding 68.2% behind the second delivery, striking eight aces against a single double fault. Oberleitner, by contrast, was undone on the second ball, winning just 35.3% of those points while coughing up six double faults, and his 62.9% return on first serves offered little shelter. The second set unravelled quickly, and Grenier moved to the brink of the main draw.
