Gauff routs Kostyuk 6-2 6-2 to reach Cincinnati semifinals
Coco Gauff needed only two brisk sets to end Marta Kostyuk's Cincinnati run, closing out a 6-2 6-2 quarterfinal win with barely a wobble. The American's serve was hardly flawless — just 53.5% of first balls landed and she coughed up three double faults — but she won 78.3% of the points behind that first delivery, which was enough to keep her out of trouble. Kostyuk's serve, by contrast, collapsed: 48.3% first serves in, eight double faults, and a damaging 22.6% of second-serve points won. That imbalance decided the match, and it carried Gauff into the last four at the WTA 1000.
