Cobolli fights back to beat Paul in Cincinnati quarterfinals
Flavio Cobolli recovered from a one-set deficit to knock out Tommy Paul 2-6 6-3 6-4 in the Cincinnati quarterfinals. Paul was the sharper server early, landing 60.5% of his first deliveries and winning 77.6% of those points, but his second serve became the weak link at just 53.1%. Cobolli, by contrast, was remarkably solid behind his own second ball, taking 64.1% of those points to go with 68.9% on first serve, 10 aces and a single double fault against Paul's three. The Italian's steadiness under pressure turned the match after a lopsided opening set, earning him a place in the semifinals at a Masters 1000.
