Fils Downs De Minaur 6-3 6-4 in Cincinnati Round of 16
Arthur Fils reached the Cincinnati quarterfinals with a controlled 6-3 6-4 win over Alex de Minaur in the Round of 16. The Frenchman built the result on his delivery, landing 70.2% of first serves and winning 80% of those points, while still taking 64.7% behind his second ball. De Minaur, by contrast, found only 57.8% of first serves and won 67.6% of them, and his second serve leaked badly at 48.1%, giving Fils steady openings to press. Four aces and three double faults from the Australian never outweighed that imbalance, and Fils closed out a straight-sets statement at Masters 1000 level.
