Keys Edges Xiyu Wang in Straight Sets in Cincinnati Last 16
Madison Keys came through a demanding straight-sets test against Xiyu Wang, 7-6 6-4, to reach the quarter-finals in Cincinnati. The first set went the distance before the American claimed the tiebreak, and her serve was the difference throughout: Keys won 81.0 percent of her first-serve points, against 64.4 percent for Wang, and struck five aces to her opponent's two. Their first-serve percentages were almost identical, 63.6 to 63.4, but Keys did far more damage behind hers, and four double faults never cost her control. It was a clean, efficient win on home soil.
