Fritz Beats O'Connell in Straight Sets in Cincinnati Last 16
Taylor Fritz needed just two sets to move past Christopher O'Connell 6-4 6-3 in the Cincinnati Round of 16, controlling the match from the back of his serve. The American landed 65.5% of his first deliveries and won 76.3% of those points, adding 10 aces against three double faults. O'Connell was punishing when he found the box, taking 88.5% of his first-serve points, but he put only half of them in and won just 38.5% behind the second ball. That gap decided it, and Fritz reached the quarter-finals at a home Masters 1000 without dropping a set.
