Pegula edges Cirstea in three sets to reach Cincinnati quarters

Jessica Pegula survived a three-set battle with Sorana Cirstea, 6-2 4-6 7-5, to reach the quarter-finals in Cincinnati. The American controlled the opening set behind a solid delivery, landing 67.4 percent of her first serves and winning 67.2 percent of those points, but Cirstea hit back to force a decider.
