Faria edges Walton in a third-set tiebreak in Cincinnati
Jaime Faria came from a set down to beat Adam Walton 4-6 6-4 7-6 in the Cincinnati round of 32, settling a three-set battle only in the final tiebreak. The Portuguese leaned on a big first delivery, striking 17 aces and winning 81% of his first-serve points, even though he landed just 57.4% of them. That inconsistency showed elsewhere: 11 double faults and only 48.8% of second-serve points won kept Walton within reach. The Australian was cleaner, with a single double fault and 56.4% behind his second serve, but his 72.4% on first serve was not enough. Faria moves on at a Masters 1000.
