Borges beats Rublev 6-3 6-4 in Cincinnati third round
Nuno Borges produced a clean straight-sets win over Andrey Rublev, 6-3 6-4, in the Cincinnati round of 32. The serve told the story: the Portuguese landed 66.1 percent of his first deliveries and won 76.9 percent of those points, striking eight aces against a single double fault. Rublev, by contrast, found only 58.2 percent of his first serves and won 65.6 percent behind them, leaving him exposed far more often on second ball, where he took just 52.2 percent. Borges never let the pressure build on his own delivery, and the result stands as one of the most authoritative wins of his hard-court campaign.
