Anisimova rallies past Eala in three sets in Cincinnati
Amanda Anisimova recovered from a set down to beat Alexandra Eala 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 in the Cincinnati round of 32, taking control once the match went the distance. The American's serve carried her through the turnaround: she landed 64.5% of first deliveries and won 68.3% of those points, with three aces against none for her opponent. Eala stayed close early behind 50% of her second-serve points, but her 60.7% first-serve rate and 61.5% won behind it left less margin, and seven double faults apiece told of the tension. For Anisimova, it was a hard-earned place in the next round on home soil.
