Pegula beats Navarro 7-5 6-2 in Cincinnati Round of 32
Jessica Pegula came through an all-American Round of 32 in Cincinnati, edging a tight opening set before pulling clear for a 7-5, 6-2 win over Emma Navarro. The serving numbers explained the gap: Pegula landed 60.7% of her first serves and won 68.6% of those points, against 56.9% and 63.4% for Navarro. The difference was starkest behind the second delivery, where Pegula took 45.5% of the points to Navarro's 35.5%, and she also kept her double faults down to three while Navarro hit five, her eight aces not enough compensation. The result carried Pegula into the next round at a WTA 1000.
