Parry recovers to beat Boisson in three sets in Cincinnati
Diane Parry came from a set down to defeat fellow Frenchwoman Lois Boisson 4-6 6-4 6-3 in the Cincinnati round of 32, turning the all-French meeting around after dropping the opener. Boisson had the louder serve, striking eight aces to Parry's three, but she also coughed up six double faults to her opponent's four. Behind the first ball the two were close, Boisson winning 73.0% of her first-serve points to Parry's 70.3%, with both landing a similar share in play, 63.6% against 62.1%. The difference came on the second delivery, where Parry won 41.0% to Boisson's 38.9%, enough to book her place in the third round.
