Bejlek beats Krejcikova 7-6 6-4 in Cincinnati opener

Sara Bejlek came through an all-Czech first-round meeting in Cincinnati, edging Barbora Krejcikova 7-6, 6-4 to reach the second round. The serve told the story: Bejlek landed 67.5% of her first deliveries and won 71.4% of those points, while Krejcikova found the court with only 61.1% of her first serves and converted just 59.1% of them. Krejcikova was the more solid of the two behind her second ball, winning 64.3% to Bejlek's 51.9%, but she saw too few first serves land. Both players struck five double faults, and Bejlek hit three aces to her compatriot's two.
