Rublev edges tiebreak, races past Carreno Busta in Cincinnati
Andrey Rublev needed one tight set to find his range, taking the opener in a tiebreak before running away with the second 6-1 to reach the Cincinnati third round. The difference was what happened behind the first serve: Rublev landed 56.9% of them and won 84.8% of those points, while Carreno Busta managed 69.2% on a comparable 55.7% first-serve rate. The Spaniard was also undone by seven double faults to Rublev's three, a costly gap once the second set turned. Rublev struck six aces to four and, after the tiebreak, never let the match slip back.
