Fritz beats Michelsen 6-3 6-4 in Cincinnati second round
Taylor Fritz controlled an all-American meeting in the Cincinnati round of 64, seeing off Alex Michelsen 6-3 6-4 without ever surrendering the initiative. His first delivery was the difference: Fritz landed only 53.5 percent of them but won 81.6 percent of those points, backing it up with seven aces. Michelsen found the box more often, at 61.7 percent, yet took just 67.6 percent of his first-serve points and 34.8 percent behind the second, while eight double faults kept undoing his own work. Fritz's six double faults never proved costly, and he moved through in straight sets.
