Noskova Serves Past Boulter 6-3 6-3 in Cincinnati Opener
Linda Noskova needed only two tight-but-controlled sets to see off Katie Boulter 6-3 6-3 in the Cincinnati round of 64. The serve told the story: the Czech landed 10 aces to Boulter's none, put 65.3% of her first deliveries in play and won 78.1% of those points, giving her opponent almost nothing to attack. Boulter, by contrast, found only 54.1% of first serves and won 66.7% behind them, while her second ball yielded just 39.3% of points against Noskova's 52.9%. Six double faults apiece hardly mattered once that gap opened. Noskova moved through at a WTA 1000 without dropping a set.
