Kalinskaya beats McNally 6-3 6-4 in Cincinnati first round
Anna Kalinskaya opened her Cincinnati campaign with a controlled 6-3 6-4 win over American Caty McNally in the round of 64. The Russian managed it without her serve firing cleanly, landing only 48.3 percent of first deliveries and hitting four double faults, yet she stayed solid behind the second ball, winning 53.3 percent of those points. McNally found the court more often, at 61.8 percent, but was undone on second serve, where she took just 42.9 percent, and matched Kalinskaya's four double faults. The straight-sets result moved Kalinskaya into the next round of the WTA 1000.
