Eala Races Through 6-1 Against Ruse in Cincinnati Opener
Alexandra Eala needed only one lopsided set to settle her Round of 64 assignment at the WTA 1000 in Cincinnati, closing it out 6-1 against Elena Gabriela Ruse. The serve numbers explained the gap: the Filipina landed 52.9% of her first deliveries and won 66.7% of those points, while backing it up with 68.8% behind her second serve and a clean sheet of no double faults. Ruse, by contrast, found only 39.3% of first serves and took just 17.6% of her second-serve points, with two double faults adding to the damage. It was a clinical way for Eala to open her tournament.
