Chwalinska routs Bucsa 6-2 6-2 in Cincinnati first round
Maja Chwalinska needed only two one-sided sets to move past Cristina Bucsa 6-2 6-2 in the Cincinnati opening round. The Pole landed just 50% of her first serves but made them count, winning 71.4% of those points and half of her second-serve points, enough to keep the pressure on throughout. Bucsa was the steadier of the two in the box at 63%, yet the Spaniard won only 48.3% behind her first delivery and a damaging 29.4% behind her second, with three double faults adding to the leaks. Neither player struck an ace, and Chwalinska's cleaner margins made the difference in a routine win at WTA 1000 level.
