Tirante rallies past Djokovic in Cincinnati Round of 64
Thiago Tirante recovered from a one-set deficit to beat Novak Djokovic 2-6 6-4 6-4 in the Round of 64 in Cincinnati. After being overrun in the opener, the Argentine leaned on his delivery: 13 aces to Djokovic's five, and a remarkable 87.8 percent of points won behind his first serve, against 78.3 percent for the Serb. Neither man was reliable on the second ball, Tirante winning 44.1 percent and Djokovic 43.1, but Djokovic's seven double faults and 54.1 percent first-serve rate proved costlier. For Tirante, it was a statement win at Masters 1000 level.
