Cobolli edges Kecmanovic in three sets in Cincinnati
Flavio Cobolli came through a three-set battle against Miomir Kecmanovic, 6-1 4-6 6-3, in the Cincinnati round of 64. The Italian's serve was the difference whenever it landed: he struck 13 aces and won 87.2% of his first-serve points, a figure Kecmanovic could not approach with 55.2%. The problem was consistency, as Cobolli put only 48.8% of first serves in and coughed up eight double faults, winning just 46.3% behind the second ball, which helped the Serb level the match. Kecmanovic served cleanly with no double faults but only three aces, and it was not enough. Cobolli moves into the next round.
