Lehecka edges Berrettini in three sets in Cincinnati
Jiri Lehecka needed three sets to get past Matteo Berrettini in the Cincinnati round of 64, taking it 6-4 6-7 6-3 after the Italian forced a decider in a second-set tiebreak. Serve carried the Czech through the tight moments: 12 aces against just one double fault, 64.6% of first serves in and 79% of those points won. The difference came behind the second delivery, where Lehecka won 64.7% to Berrettini's 61.3%, even though the Italian edged the first-serve column at 81.1% and conceded no double faults. It was a hard-earned place in the next round on a fast hard court.
