Oliynykova beats Kalieva 6-4 6-1 in Cincinnati first round
Oleksandra Oliynykova needed only two sets to move past Elvina Kalieva 6-4 6-1 in the opening round of the WTA 1000 event in Cincinnati, tightening her grip after an even first set. The serve numbers told the story: the Ukrainian won 64.1 percent of her first-serve points and 46.7 percent behind her second, while Kalieva managed just 45.8 and 42.9 percent. Oliynykova's eight double faults never cost her, since Kalieva could not build pressure from her own 53.3 percent first-serve rate. The win puts the Ukrainian into the second round of the hard-court event.
