Golubic routs Parks 6-2 6-2 in Cincinnati first round
Viktorija Golubic needed just two one-sided sets to see off Alycia Parks 6-2 6-2 in the opening round in Cincinnati. The Swiss built the win on control rather than firepower: she landed 72.2 percent of her first serves and won 76.9 percent of those points, conceding only one double fault all match. Parks, by contrast, found the first-serve box just 46.3 percent of the time and took only 56 percent of those points, her four aces outweighed by six double faults. With a second serve constantly under pressure, the American never settled, and Golubic moved through in comfortable fashion.
