Halys serves past Kopriva in straight sets at Cincinnati
Quentin Halys came through a tight straight-sets contest against Vit Kopriva, 7-6 6-4, in the Cincinnati first round. The Frenchman's serve did the decisive work: 12 aces against just two from Kopriva, only two double faults, and 75.0% of points won behind a first delivery that landed 57.9% of the time. Kopriva was actually more productive on his own first ball, winning 83.3% of those points, but he made only 54.5% of them and won just 43.3% behind the second, which left him exposed. For Halys, it was a clean start to the Masters 1000 week.
