Kenin recovers from 1-6 first set to beat Lys in Cincinnati
Sofia Kenin turned a lopsided opening around in the Cincinnati first round, losing the first set 1-6 before taking control for a 1-6 6-3 6-3 win over Eva Lys. The American's first delivery carried her back into the match: she landed only 59.4 percent of first serves but won 76.3 percent of those points, and she stayed afloat behind the second ball with 46.2 percent won. Lys found the court more often, at 70.5 percent, yet her nine double faults and just 30.4 percent of second-serve points won left her exposed. The result put Kenin into the second round.
