Boisson downs Krueger 6-3 6-2 in Cincinnati first round

Lois Boisson made a clean start to the WTA 1000 in Cincinnati, brushing past Ashlyn Krueger 6-3 6-2 in the round of 128. The Frenchwoman landed only 52.0 percent of her first serves, but it barely mattered: she won 76.9 percent of those points and an outstanding 70.8 percent behind her second delivery, hitting three aces against three double faults. Krueger, by contrast, was undone on serve, taking just 43.3 percent of her second-serve points and coughing up seven double faults to go with 61.5 percent won on first serves. It was a straightforward home-soil-free win for Boisson over an American opponent.
