Townsend rallies past Osorio in three sets in Cincinnati
Taylor Townsend dropped the opening set but turned the match around to beat Camila Osorio 3-6 6-3 6-3 in the first round in Cincinnati. The American's serve was the difference once she settled: nine aces against just one double fault, 70.7% of first serves in, and 58.3% of second-serve points won. Osorio, by contrast, landed only 53.3% of her first serves and won 47.6% behind the second, with seven double faults undermining her hold games. Solid on first-serve points at 67.2%, Townsend made the home crowd's afternoon and moved into the second round of the WTA 1000.
