Blinkova rallies past Lys to reach Cincinnati main draw
Anna Blinkova recovered from a set down to beat Eva Lys 3-6 6-2 6-2 in the final round of qualifying in Cincinnati. The Russian's serve was the difference once she settled: she struck six aces to none for Lys and won 61.5 percent of her first-serve points, despite landing only 59.1 percent of them. Lys got 64.4 percent of her first serves in but won just 44.7 percent of those points, and three double faults added to the pressure. The comeback earned Blinkova a place in the WTA 1000 main draw.
