Halys serves past Bu Yunchaokete to reach Cincinnati main draw

Quentin Halys came through qualifying in Cincinnati with a 6-2 7-6 win over Bu Yunchaokete, taking the opening set comfortably before needing a tie-break to finish the job. The Frenchman's serve was the difference: 14 aces against just two from Bu, and an outstanding 94.4 percent of points won behind the first delivery despite landing only 61 percent of them. Bu, by contrast, won 72.5 percent on his first serve and just 32.3 percent on his second, offering little resistance in the longer exchanges. Halys' three double faults never proved costly, and the result carried him into the main draw.
