Zheng rallies past Svajda to reach Cincinnati main draw

Michael Zheng recovered from a set down to beat fellow American Trevor Svajda 3-6 7-5 6-3 in the final round of qualifying at the Cincinnati Masters 1000. The serve was the difference once Zheng found his range: he struck 12 aces to Svajda's one and landed 60.6 percent of his first deliveries, winning 72.7 percent of those points, while Svajda managed only 46.2 percent first serves in. Zheng's six double faults kept the contest alive, but he won 51.2 percent behind the second ball to edge a match of fine margins and book his place in the main draw.
