Tagger beats Montgomery 6-3 6-1 to reach Cincinnati main draw

Lilli Tagger booked her place in the Cincinnati main draw with a commanding 6-3 6-1 win over Robin Montgomery in the final round of qualifying. The Austrian's serve set the tone: she landed 68.2 percent of her first deliveries and won 73.3 percent of those points, striking four aces against a single double fault. Montgomery, by contrast, found only 61.7 percent of first serves and won just 56.8 percent behind them, while her second ball yielded a meagre 26.1 percent. With that platform, Tagger pulled clear in the second set and completed the job in straight sets.
