Arango edges Sasnovich in three sets in Cincinnati qualifying

Emiliana Arango came from a set down to beat Aliaksandra Sasnovich 3-6 6-4 6-4 in the qualifying semifinals at the WTA 1000 in Cincinnati. The Colombian's start was shaky, with only 41.4 percent of her first serves finding the box, and Sasnovich, landing 62.5 percent of hers, took the opening set. Arango steadied from there, leaning on the three aces she struck to Sasnovich's one, while the Belarusian's seven double faults, one more than Arango's six, kept handing back momentum. The win carried Arango through to the final round of qualifying on the Cincinnati hard courts.
