Wong edges Virtanen in two tiebreaks to reach Cincinnati main draw
Chak Lam Coleman Wong came through the Cincinnati qualifying final without dropping a set, beating Otto Virtanen 7-6 7-6 in a match decided entirely in the tiebreaks. Virtanen was the more explosive server, striking 13 aces and winning 83.0% of his first-serve points, but he landed only 57.3% of them and took just 40.0% behind the second ball. Wong's steadier platform was that second delivery, worth 59.0% of points, alongside 9 aces and 72.3% won on first serve from a 54.7% strike rate. Six double faults never cost him a set, and the Hong Kong player earned his place in the main draw.
