Jeanjean fights back past Sakatsume in Cincinnati qualifying

Leolia Jeanjean lost the opening set but turned the match around to beat Himeno Sakatsume 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 in the qualifying semifinals at the WTA 1000 event in Cincinnati. The Frenchwoman's first serve was the difference once she settled: she landed only 57 percent of them but won 71.9 percent of those points, against 63.5 percent for Sakatsume. The Japanese player was undone behind her second delivery, taking just 26.9 percent of those points despite a healthier 70.8 percent first-serve rate. Jeanjean's nine double faults never cost her the momentum, and the win carried her a step closer to the main draw.
