Trungelliti edges Ofner in a third-set tiebreak in Cincinnati qualifying
Marco Trungelliti came from a set down to beat Sebastian Ofner 4-6 6-4 7-6 in the qualifying semifinals in Cincinnati, the decider settled only in a tiebreak. The Argentine leaned on his first delivery throughout, landing 59% of them and winning 72.5% of those points, against 52.4% and 64.8% for Ofner. The margins were fine elsewhere: Trungelliti struck three aces to the Austrian's five and coughed up ten double faults to eight, while his 39.6% behind the second serve trailed Ofner's 51%. The reward for surviving that shootout was a place in the final qualifying round.
