Coleman Wong beats Seong Chan Hong 6-4 6-2 in Cincinnati qualifying
Chak Lam Coleman Wong controlled his qualifying semifinal at the Cincinnati Masters 1000, seeing off Seong Chan Hong 6-4 6-2 in straight sets. Neither man found the court often with the first delivery — Wong landed just 47.1 percent, Hong 49.0 — but the Hong Kong player made far more of the ones he did, winning 81.2 percent of his first-serve points to Hong's 70.8. The gap was even wider behind the second ball, where Wong took 63.9 percent against 52.0, and his three double faults to Hong's four kept the margin intact. The win carried him into the final qualifying round.
